How to Make a Classic Iced Matcha Layered Latte

  1. Sift matcha powder into a tea bowl.
  2. Add hot water (70–75 °C), room temperature water, or cold water, whichever you prefer. Use 10 ml of water for every 1 g of matcha.
  3. Use a bamboo whisk to mix the matcha with water in a circular motion for a few seconds before whisking.
  4. Whisk using a rapid zigzag motion (M or W shape) or a gentle back-and-forth until smooth. The ideal whisking time is around 40–60 seconds.
  5. Fill a glass with ice cubes and your preferred milk. Feel free to add your favorite syrup if you'd like.
  6. Gently pour matcha on top to create layers.
  7. Stir until well blended, then enjoy!
